The Liberation of Lemnos Dance October 2025

The Committee of the Lemnian Association of NSW "Maroula", thank you all for attending our annual Liberation of Lemnos October 1912 Dance held last Saturday night at The Lemnos Club in Belmore.

Once our guests were seated (approx 450 guests) the evening's entertainment commenced with a fantastic performance by our very own LEMNIAN DANCE GROUP, taught by the very talented Amelia Magoulias (Tuesday nights at 6pm The Lemnos Club, excluding school holidays).

It was great to see the young parents and grandparents and other guests, surrounding the dance floor cheering and encouraging our young dancers (aged 3 to about 14 years old!). We also thank 'The Traditional and Contemporary Greek Dance Group', taught by Paroula Thurban and Nicole Englezos, for their great dancing performances.

After our President Mr John Sentas welcomed all our guests, our VIP guest Commodore John Stavridis, CSC Royal Australian Navy officer and a proud Lemnian, gave a warm speech about being a Greek Australian with Lemnian heritage. We thank John for his heartfelt words and support at all our functions.

The stage was set for a great night of Greek Dancing and music provided by our fantastic vocalists and musicians; Tina Kokkalis (vocals), Michael Naxakis (Bouzouki/vocals), Peter Kokkinis (Guitar), George Lambrou (Accordion), Steve Vasiliadis (keyboard) and Tassos Lambrou (Band Coordinator).

We also would like to thank the managers and staff of Clarence House for the exceptional menu served and the excellent service and ability to adapt to the extra guests that arrived on the night.

Thank you all for your enthusiastic participation and support at our Liberation of Lemnos October 1912 Dance, and we hope you all had a wonderful time, see you all again in 2026!
