    We’re excited to welcome you to our new website! It’s a great start - and a work in progress - and we’d love your input to help us grow and improve it.

    📸 Share Your Photos

    We’re on the lookout for photos that tell the story of our shared past. Were you ever on the committee? Were your parents? Did you attend one of the many events held by the Lemnos Club -picnics, dances, celebrations? Or maybe you were part of the Lemnian Youth Association?

    We’d love to feature these precious memories as part of our Club’s growing digital archive. We've already uploaded some great contributions from committee members, but we want to include as many Lemnian families as possible.

    How to share your photos:

    Scan and email your photos to: maroulalemnos@gmail.com

    (We’ll scan and return them to you safely.)

    When sending your photos, please include (if known):

    - Approximate year the photo was taken
    - Name of the event
    - Names of the people in the photo

  • 🧳 Migration Stories

    Our website features a Migration Stories section, dedicated to the first generation of Lemnians in NSW. We’d love to include your family’s story - whether it’s about an individual or a couple. Stories will be displayed by village, so if a couple comes from two different villages, you might like to submit a story for each.

    The stories can be written by the person in question, or any family member and will act as a tribute to those who migrated here those many decades ago. All submitted stories will be uploaded to the website.

    To contribute, please include:

    - Full name (include maiden name for women)
    - Year of birth
    - Year of arrival in Australia
    - Village of origin and name of parents
    - A short story (approx. 800-1000 words)
    - A photo (ideally from around the time of arrival, but any will do)

  • 🍲 Family Recipes

    Do you have a treasured Lemnian recipe you’d like to share? Lemnos is known for its rich and authentic cuisine - Avgolemono, Flomaria, Pites of all kinds and those unforgettable desserts and pastries.

    We all know our Yiayiás and mums were powerhouses - stretching filo, making Loulouthia, Flomaria, Yemista - the list goes on. They weren’t just cooks, they were experts in the art of homemade food!

    So if your Yiayia Eleni made the best Pita, or your Theia Mary had legendary Koulouria, honour them by sharing their recipe and a photo of them here. Let’s celebrate these remarkable women and preserve their culinary magic for generations to come.

    Name of Person (include maiden name) and a photograph
    Village of Origin
    Name of Recipe and Ingredients
    Instructions
    Photo of food if possible
